Default Cold Air Intake on a daily driver

Hey I was wondering if anyone has a Cold Air Intake on a 4.6L GT that is driven all year round (that includes winter driving too!) ?? I have a 2002 GT and I was offered a used Cold Air Intake for $40 CAD. I think it has under 2000kms on it or something like that. I have to drive my Mustang in the winter, though, so I want to know if a CAI will be affected by that or not, and if it is a good or bad idea. I'm thinking it will probably be ok, but I want to make sure before I go out and mod something that I will have to remove afterward.

Thx for the input.

I've put 20,000 on my GT in St. Louis and Arkansas weather/traffic. I have driven much rain and snow in my daily driver with that K&N filter hanging in the wheelwell at the end of the od' Densecharger. No problems at all. I used to be a little paranoid about it and get down their to see if moisture was a prob. No probs!

Reliable as ever; I've had them on my car the last 60k miles. Just make sure if you upgrade to plenum and 75mm throttlebody you get your air/fuel checked on a dyno. Sometimes it's ok, but I have the MAC straigh shot with the 85mm Mass Air Meter installed along with the 75mm TB and C&L plenum; made the car run lean, and I would have never known it without a tune. You should be fine and not have to worry about that though if you keep the stock air meter.

yea ive got an ebay special CAI and today it was raining and i felt my filter and it was pretty damp so i cut about 2-3 inches off of it w/a saw and that seemed to solve the problem feels a little stronger too it may just be me but i guess that would make since cuz of less space for the air to travel i was bored and needed somethign to do for a couple hours lol

Ok, so I got my air intake today. It's a BBK model... used. It's got under 5000kms on it and I'm putting it on this Saturday. I'm going to blow out & clean the air filter (it looks clean enough that I don't think I'll have to replace it yet). I don't have any installation instructions for it, so if anyone has a link where I can download some, that'd be great! Also, if anyone's got suggestions for maintenance / cleaning / caring for the system I'll take those too.
