Question Brain buster...

In these hard times, I am trying to save a buck by doing the work myself. With that, I decided to replace my heater core instead of paying the $1200 for the shop to do it. All was well with my 97 Mustang GT except for the heater core. I removed the dash and replaced the core. Put it all back together and now my airbag flashes error code 41 (RH side open circuit) and my alternator is not charging. I took the alternator to have it tested and it checked fine. I put it back in the car thinking it might have been a loose regulator plug, but it is still not charging. I checked all of the quick connects and all seem to be together. I am at a loss. Please help. What should I check now?? A little extra info... there were two connectors unplugged when I first connected the battery. Found them and pluged them in. Checked all of the fuses (driver dash and under hood). All were fine.

Really sounds like you inadvertently unplugged or ripped wiring during the job. It will be a PITA but I would take everything back apart and looked for unplugged harnesses or ripped wires.

Default pic question...

What is this black wire for? I believe the item it is attached to is the computer (the silver item in the pic). It was not connected to anything but since it is all black (common for a ground wire), I have hooked it up to ground. Is that correct? This item also has an antenna attached to it. What would that be for? Please help.

where exactly is that box in the picture located because that is definatly not the main ECU which is located in the passenger side kick panel. If you have a haynes manual you can go over the wirring but honestly im not sure what that box actually is.

This silver box (underside of box is shown) is located directly below the radio and just above the transmission channel.

I looked through "HAYNES" and I found a schematic that it seems this might be the "powertrain control module". I really do not want to jump to conclusions just because or the ease of saying that is it so I will be done. Can anyone confirm that is the "power train control module"?

pcm is located on the right hand side down under the kick panel. that most likely is some sort of amp for the stock sound system.
