Question To Tune Or Not To Tune???

in my sig ull see my little mods, and i was wondering if i should get my car tuned. when i really give it throttle i see some heavy smoke which gives me the impression my air/fuel ratio is off, and my idle stills hangs ALOT but eventually falls. any suggestions?

it wouldnt hurt. with the sniper package you can tune for your bigger throttle body as well as your midpipe. Plus it would be a snap to make more tunes if you got gears or any other mods.

Getting rid of the OEM 87 octane tune is always "worth it". It (the stock tune) is very conservative with regard to timing. You can add 2° to the Global Spark Adder scalar and 2° to the higher load values in the Spark Borderline table right off the bat, even if running regular gas.

It is also quite rich at WOT, at 11.0:1 to 11.5:1 (and even dipping into the high 10's) which causes the engine to get "boggy" in the mid and upper mid-range rpms.

You can be dead stock and a good premium fuel tune will make very noticeable gains, more than any bolt-on alone. Open up the exhaust first with a 2-1/2" H or X-pipe (catted or not, doesn't make any real difference), and a 2-1/2" catback--then get a wideband O2 sensor and a tuner (Sniper SF is nice, Commando is better) and start bolting the rest of the stuff on...

At the risk of sounding facetious, "a good one".

I really don't understand your question, and can only make general recommendations: 93 octane, get AFR under control, push the timing as advanced as you can without detonation.

Sniper Commando, there is nothing in it's price range ($680) that rivals it. You'd need to spend over $1000 to match it's capabilities with any other package, and there is nothing costing less that can do what it can do.
