I wouldnt think so..are you rolling around with your e-brake on? Or maybe your e-brake is too tight?

If you had been doing some VERY hard stopping before reading the temps it's possible--the rear rotors are quite a bit smaller than the front (I don't remember the exact sizes off the top of my head) and non-vented. Therefore they cannot dissipate heat as fast as the front rotors.

How did you measure the temperature?

Could be a bad proportioning valve, the caliper cup is sticking, e-brake is set too tight.

ok here is what is happening. a months back i did rear brakes. for a few days they were perfectly fine. then when gettin out of the car i noticed the passenger side rear brake was very hot. the rim was almost to hot to touch. then it happends every so often. sometimes it will get really hot and sometimes it wont the other day i was driving a far distance when i stoped at a light my rear brake passanger again was smoking it was so hot. but then other times it won't get that hot. when i roll to a stop right before i stop i can feel the brakes grab. and if i'm on a very slight incline where i should be rolling back i won't i'll stay put. the ebrake isn't on. i took everything apart and nothing seems to be wrong. and when i checked it now both the right and left rear brakes are the same tempature. i don't know what is going wrong here.

Did you reset (turn in all the way) the rear caliper pistons when you did the brakes?

Also did both brake pins slide easily when you changed the brakes? I had the brake pins seize into the bracket on both rear caliper brackets.

yes i rotated both pistons all the way in and also the guide pins move smoothly. this is why i'm puzzled. the calipers rn't seized up in any way they rotate in smoothly so i don't see what the problem is.

Try popping the parking brake cable off of that side and see what it's like, also you may have to pull that calaiper and reset the piston (and make sure it's bottomed out).
