Default Ticking noise Help!

Ok, I have a 2000 mustang GT 4.6L V8, recently I got this ticking or clanking nouse that sounds like its coming from the left side of the engine (If your sitting in the drivers seat), Now it is worse when its cold but if you accellerate very slowly you cannot hear it, the more you press the gas the louder it gets. Any Suggestions? Help please.

mine has a tick under heavy acceleration too. It might be normal as my engine only has 18k miles on it and its a new full exhaust.

i had a ticking/rattle at about 2500rpm i checked everything, lifters, intake and eveything else, some people say their flywheel hits the metal gasket to the bell housing causeing a ticking or rattleing sound, mine got worse over time and eventually ticked really loud at idel, it was a rod. and i am in the middle of a motor swap right now, good luck maybe it's something simple.

Supposedly the ticking noise from the flywheel is supposed to be the metal gasket that goes between the bell housing and the block, it will vibrate and cause a resonant frequency and rattle against the block, also there were some instance where some guy’s flywheel was hitting the same gasket and it had to be trimmed. There is a thread somewhere on this forum about that subject but it's been awhile ill see if I can find it.
