Buy a JLT RAI, then sit back and look at that new spot to mount your nitrous solenoids!

Thats what I did

I did an x pipe tb/plenum and CAI at the same time and barely noticed a difference.. a CAI by its self will give you a nice placebo effect... you can not feel a 2RWHP gain.. i dont care how sensitive your butt dyno is.. you just cant feel it.

TB/Plenum combos have been known to give great response. Check out the Bolt-On Tech articles on the sticky thread. Accufab, Dragon, C&L are good brands.

honestly dont waste ur money on boltons...no matter what u do to a 2v it will not be "fast" without N20 or FI....if u just want ur car to be alright speed wise then just go with bolt ons but if u want ur car to be "fast" in the near future then they are worthless....of course they will be benificial once u have FI or N20 but untill then they are pretty much pointless......id say save for a SC (mainly KB with the "big tube kit") so then u will have a bunch of power plus a new intake and can get new TB also....but honestly anyone u will take to on this site with a decent amount of power needed alot more than little boltons to make the stang fast....unfortunately they look amazing but have a small motor....but if u arent lookin for a good amount of power then boltons are the way but if u want a good amount of HP in the near future then save ur $$ and get the bigger stuff first

^+1, they are a waste of time and money for the little hp/tq they do give you.
I also say save and buy a blower. CAI= pointless. no real gain there. it is mainly engine cosmetics. TB/plenun will give a little throttle response but is it really worth the $300?(average)

When i firts got the mustang i put everybolt on i could and it really made no diff. maybe 20RWHP when all was added. So i spent like $800 for 20rwhp! no worth it to me. Then i decided to get the KB and guess what! everything had to come off. if you have any plans to get a blower, buy the blower first and then add what you can. When you do it the other way around, you always lose money.

edit: but if you really want to get the cai + tb, i have a JLT CAI and BBK 78mm i will sell you. PM me if interested.

But good luck either way.

but see my engine is old and its just a daily driver for now. i really want a 5.4L, but dont like the idea of a 3" cowl. is there a way to make it work with either the heat extractor or cobra r hood?

def wont work with the heat extracter hood. not sure on the cobra r hood though, but highly dout it. the intake on those engines are tall.
