Default what size clutch to go with and what brand?

it is a 98 GT with the t-45 and going to have around 550HP, as the title says what would i be gaining going with a 11 inch over my stock 10.5 is it worth paying 400$ for a new flywheel or will i be ok with the stock 10.5? also if i keep the 10.5 will i need to get it resurfaced before putting it back in? if so how much does that usually cost?

last thing what brand should i go with to hold up to my power goals roughly 550HP. It is mostly a street car but will see the track a few times a year. I was thinking of centerforce or possibly a RAM? i dont want to get a spec i heard they were more of a race clutch. ok thanks for any help

Id go with spec stage 3 cltuch.....thats what i got (factory flywheel).

Im bumper to bumper for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours about 4 days a week. Im 5'6 195. My foot dosent hurt at all. Car has chatters rarly (when i make a mistake) but will under the right circumstances (avoidable)

Spec's puck design is solid and very usable. It is a little grippy but if your not a complete moron and i doubt a man that has a 500hp+ DD'd car like yourself is. I encourage you to get one. I got one cause a pal of mine had one and it drove like wet sexx....a little different but you catch on fast haha.

If you go with an 11" clutch you have to buy a matching flywheel. Your current flywheel is drilled for a 10.5" clutch and will not work.

yes i understand that, thats why i dont think its worth going with the 11 inch, because its going to be 400$ just for the flywheel and you dont really gain much from it

I really don't think it would be worth it, I would just stick with the 10.5".

It depens on how much torque you are getting, but I would go with a SPEC Stage 3 or 2+ (if you dont want it that stiff). About the flywheel its not even worth it to get it resurfaced, get a brand new stock one from autozone for $67. You will have to pay $167 but when you bring your old one back they will give you $100 back. I just replaced my clutch, got a SPEC Stage 2 and I´m very happy with it. And good thing I bought a brand new flywheel because the one I had had small crack on it so I don´t think I would of been able to get it resurfaced. Getting it resurfaced its not worth the time it takes and $40. I say get a new one.
