Default platinum plugs vs iridium?

I have a 04 GT, Im getting ready to install a set of accel coil packs, upper plenum and CAI, I have always been a platinum plug guy, but have heard alot of good things about the iridium also. If any of you guys are running either id like some feedback on what you think.

Stock will fire just as good.. you dont need upgraded plugs...or accel packs.

If you go FI you also want copper but one stage colder.

i have the ngk IX iridium's, no problems, i did got them soon after i got the car, the gas mileage seemed to go up in the city a little bit from the stock motorcraft ones. It seemed like smoother acceleration too, of course at that point i did the oil and cleaned the air filter too.

I have double platinum plugs. My fuel mileage went up about 1-2 mpg on the highway and barely noticeable in the city. I had iridium on my old stang (v6) and I couldnt tell a difference in performance.

Get NGK's TR55 and call it a day. Anything else is just a waste of dollars IMO. Unless you are going FI or N2O.

Gotta disagree with you on that one man. Just about everyone I talk to (including hardcore Stang owners) have all said unless you're pulling some serious HP, the stock plugs are most def the way to go.

I agree that stock plugs would be fine. However if the op is set on buying aftermarket get NGK's because they are good reliable plugs that don't cost an arm and leg. I have been using them in both my daily drivers. One makes about 130 rwhp and the other 450rwhp. I have tuned cars making over 600 rwhp using NGK's without a single problem. Good plug for the price is my point.
