Default radiator

my car has been running real hot, the radiator idiot light has been on. just drained it and this is wat resulted ^. put in some prestone radiator flush and its still fukking over heating. any1 have experience with this kind of problem? i guess the next step is pulling the radiator and having it professionaly flushed. but what if that doesnt do the trick ether?

edit: also replaced the t-stat. so thats not it. not unless i need an aftermarket t-stat.

Well if you have already replaced the thermostat, check your cap for proper seel, make sure your hoses arent colapsing. Do you have any leaks???

no leaks, all hoses and hose connections r good. no visible leaks ether. the cap is working fine. when it gets hot it bleeds pressure as it should. and also the car runs cold for 30min-1hour b4 it starts heating up. and once it does there is no stopping it, the only thing i can do is shut it down and wait. which is really annoying.

i'm hoping its not the water pump, but what could go wrong w/ the water pump?
the car is 10 y/o and has 93k on the clock. would that be enough to kill a pump?

Well if its the pump, usually its because its leaking, but not not always. If everything else is working fine then, it has to be either your pump or the radiator itself. Oh yeah is your fan working properly???

yes fan is workin fine. and i kno its not leaking anywhere the coolant level never budges. not to mention ive been checkin for leaks religously. man its gotta be build up in the radiator. but the flush hasnt made any difference. is it possible that its built up so bad that flushing wont do any good?

idk about the sludge, we will find out tomorrow. and no its not a TRUE flush. its a d.i.y. thing that prestone makes. u drain then fill with the prestone cleaner and water, drive for a total of 3-6 hours. drain then fill with water drive another 3-6 hours. drain again and fill w/ water and coolant and u SHOULD be good to go.

i'm on the first first step.

You may want to take it to a shop and have them flush it properly.
