Default tires

do people run say 245 tires in the front and 315's in the back just for looks or can u not put 315's on the front? just wondering why the staggered fitment.

i want the widest tires i can get without a staggered fitment so i can still get them all rotated.

315's will def not fit in the front. Most people will run a 9" rim up front with 255's or 275's.

Widest you can do all around would be 275's, but it's not gonna look as tough. Just go to any car show and look at the cars that really stand out. I bet they have a staggered setup. You could throw some spacers in the rear if you're going to stay the same all around.

so its basically for looks. what size 275 can i do front and rear on 18" and 20" rims? what width should the rim be, 8" or 9"?

can i do a 18x9.5 with 275/35/18 all around?

what about a 20x8.5 with 255/35/20 all around?

Not sure on the sidewall height for a 18 or 20, but a 9" rim would fit best on a 275

is this what i would need as far as a wheel spacer?
http://www.brothersperformance.com/c...oducts_id/4812

those widths are what i have to work with, so what size tire should i go get with either 8.5" or 9.5" wheels?

I think with a 1" spacer you'll have to shave the studs on your car a little. I'm not 100% sure so i would call them first. I used a 1/4" slip on spacer with my 275's (no issues or cutting involved). I not sure, a 1" w/275 in rear might cause rubbing (it will be very close for sure). Although you could probably get away with an 275 on an 8.5" rim, i would go with a 9.5"

Actually, I could run a 315 on a 10.5", but have a 295/30/18" on a 10" up front on my Summer wheels. I have done major suspension upgrades to allow it, and still staggered with 10"s & 11"s

This is correct

I run a 275/35/18" up front on my Winter wheels and is really a bit large for a 9" wheel, and recommend a 255~265. I will be widening them this Summer and go 295/30's up there as well.

As to spacers, please note the warning as to running spacers on your ride printed on that link. I run 1/2" on my rears but have installed longer/stronger Moroso studs to accomodate them. I have no safety concerns and needed them to run the back-space of my wheels.

I think you are best served to stick with a 17" or 18" wheel, and steer clear of larger. They will fit, but really limit your choice of tires and widths. You should also stick with no more thab 9" & 10"/10.5" wheels as you will have trouble going wider up front.

You also want to consider the ABS issues that will arrise if you were to get too much differential between tire diameters front/rear. You will trigger the ABS light on dash and mess with its oporation at some point. I have not been able to determine what point that is and done LOTS of research.

the only reason i would even want a spacer is to have the staggered look in the back. is 1" too much? i think im going to go with the 18x9.5 wheels all around so what size tire would be best with a spacer in the back? thanks for all the replies, its appreciated

This depends on the off-set/back-space of the wheel you use.

I am NOT a fan of that much spacer, especially since you would need to use the type that has built-in studs. This type has several issues including ability to come loose and not be easily aware.

You need to decide on the wheels you want and install them. You THEN need to measure the room you have left in which to add a spacer. Ironically, you may have less room to move outward with your 9.5' wheel, than I had with my 10.5" wheel. This ALL depends on off-set/back-space of wheel. Go ***HERE*** to see some helpful info on this issue.
