Default when should I see boost?

If you don't already know I have a V1 s trim. These may be dumb questions but I just don't seem to be making 8 lbs of boost so I want to make sure everything is as it should be. I should see boost whether I am driving or just revving it up right? Since its a centri it should build boost with rpms no matter what. 2nd question, say I just hold it at like 5k rpms, should the boost stay constant (say at 8 lbs) or should it drop when the rpms stop increasing?

Yes I do (hense why I said I dont seem to be getting 8 lbs). I have an intercooler and powerpipe so in theory the powerpipe should make up for the loss through the intercooler and I don't have anything else that would make me lose boost. I want to know if I am getting in and out of boost when I should be. The questions I asked are so I can compare what actually happens to what should happen.

Ok, so I need to be driving and the RPMs have to be increasing in order to make/maintain boost...correct?

you can be cruising in second with the rpms held at 3500rpm and you wont be in boost. once you stick the throttle you will begin to build boost and your gauge should show that.

what exactely is your gauge reading?

I've seen it hit 8 lbs once, usually I only see 6. Maybe I am just missin it because its kinda hard to watch it and drive lol. I'm gonna check to make sure all my couplers are tight.

The stock pulley is only good for 6-8psi. You won't see much boost unless you're wot and above 4k with a stock pulley.

You're not always going to see boost when driving around. You're bypass valve will be opening in a vacuum situations allow the boost to escape when you're not on the throttle.

The boost also will increase as the rpms raise. You're only going to probably start will 1-2lbs around 3500rpms. And you won't see full boost until redline.
