cold air for the money is really nothing.

Seriously if you can't do the PI swap cause of money save a little and get it, it's the best thing for you to do. then gears and a tune

Well looks like I'll have to start saving for the PI then. I like the thought of the gears though, might go ahead and do that first since its not too costly. Thanks for the help!

If you do gears don't forget about a speedo recal.

you can do the PI swap for less than a 1000, as long as you do the work. I don't know that may be a lot to you i know it would be for me, however gears with rebuild kit and install and speedo recal is going to cost you close to 500

I wouldn't trust myself to do the work for the PI. I'm not very good. haha. I'm learning, but I don't wanna break my good car. Broken plenty of other stuff on my other cars.

Are you counting an install in that 500? I found the gears and kit for about 250. And I would have that professionally installed.

yes i am the install is cheap, but you have to add on the speedometer calibration but that is cheap also...if you do it yourself. If you don't want to do that either I would say if you get the gears and rebuild kit and speedo recal then you could probably get it all installed for 500.

check out other places for the gears you should be able to get new Ford racing gears for 130-140.

I found 'em for like $190 but didn't look too hard. I'll look around though before I buy anything.

The best mod that is available for your car right now is a PI swap.

heads,cams, intake.....

Buy used, along with the other couple parts required and you'll cut a second off of your average ET.

The work is not THAT hard, but it's not simple either. I replaced a head on my car having done nothing more than spark plugs and changing the oil on my car.

Find someone around that will lend you a garage for a week/weekend and go at it. It's fun, ESPECIALLY I would think if you're about to gain a lot of power, instead of replacing the broken parts with replacement stockers.

Something now would be nice, but I can wait, I'm not in a huge hurry. I got two other cars that are kinda projects, this is the only one thats actually in good shape right now. But yeah, when I say I'm not very good, I REALLY mean it. I've broken so many bolts and various parts. I probably shouldn't even work on cars at all, but its fun so I do it anyway and make some very expensive mistakes. But I don't wanna break the mustang, its my favorite of my cars.

I will be saving up to pay someone qualified to do the PI swap though.
