Shifter Handle Gets Hot?

Shifter Handle Gets Hot?
I have 04 gt, manual transmission with a steeda short throw shifter. The other day I was driving around a decent amount and I noticed that my shifter handle was really hot and the console around the shifter was warm too (like around the cup holder and ebrake). I've notice it that it gets warm after awhile but it was really hot this time.
Should I be concerned? Is this normal to get that hot? If so what should I do?

The transmission runs at 120°F to 160°F under normal loads, that's pretty hot (140°F is the threshold of pain). The aftermarket shifters eliminate the rubber isolators used in the OEM shifter and therefore conduct more of the tranny heat into the cabin.
