Default Hi-Tech stage 2's or???`

Cams Cams Cams. I've decided that I would like to get myself a pair of cams for a good amount of extra HP and sound. My current mods are in my sig and I am almost dead set on getting the Hi-Tech stage 2's because of what I've heard about them. Mainly because I heard there almost no low end loss and it pulls very hard after 3000rpm's.

On the Hi-Tech website they have a dyno scan of an 02 GT which I think only has intake and full longtube exhaust mods with an 87octane dyno tune with the cams and it put down 310rwhp. So far I've heard that you need full, full bolt ons and a bomb tune to even yet 300rwhp. Does anyone know how likely it would be for me to hit close to 300 with my current mods plus maybe a bit more? Is there any chance of going over?

I heard these cams are strictly for N/A applications and will be really really bad with an S/C or nitrous. I think I've decided that I won't go this route at least not with this motor/car. My ultimate goals I would like 350ish rwhp but I can take 310rwhp for a good while. If later on the road I can get a port/polish, will it work well with these cams?

Are there any other cams you would recommend? I don't mind a little bit of low end loss if the peak HP is much higher. I don't know too much about cam jargon so I'm hoping I can get some help. This will definitely be my biggest purchase yet. I heard with these Hi-Tech's I won't need new springs, but would it be a good idea? I called a reputable shop around here and they want $375 to install it without springs or $500 with springs.

Thanks,
Brandon

i was looking into the hitechs stage 2, but i think its fishy that you don't need springs unlike all the other stage 2's. So this makes me think, are they really stage 1.5's? (not really, but in my mind) I'm still trying to decide between them and the cms stage 2's. all the cms's on you tube sound completely BA with stage 2's, even the stage 1's have a mean lobe! just something to think about...

Well the Hi-Tech's being "stage 2's?" I guess is just the name...I think we should be looking more at the specs....which I am not too fluent with lol.

I'm GUESSING we don't need new springs because I heard it's just more lift with the same duration

Simple! If you can afford Springs($200ish), get Cushman. If you can't, get Hitech.

Well I was looking at the CMS stage 2's and on their site it says "2800-6200 rpm. Gains of 30-35rwhp are common. Like 3.73 gear or better and 2800+ stall in auto's. MUST BE TUNED AFTER INSTALL."

What does that RPM range mean? is that the powerband? does that mean the car is not drivable below 2800? and the gain is only like 30-35....can't I get that with hi techs with stock springs and no low end loss?

Even their stage 1's say "2500-6000. Noticeable idle. Tune suggested. Gains of 25-30rwhp.
540/550 lift, 224/226 .050" duration, 110 LSA"

224/226....the HI-tech's are 234/230....wouldn't that be better?

Having an Auto like myself you probably know this car SUCKS in first gear below 2000 RPM. The stall and (Should be 4.10 gears, not 3.73) just make it easier to drive around; essentially balancing out the power.

I'm not sure about the Stats, maybe someone else can help you in that department

if you get ANY set of aftermarket cams the car needs to be tuned after install and the cams need to be degreed...and i know people on here dont want to hear it, but any set of cams needs better valvesprings and retainers. Id have the pistons notched also.
