I bought a upr clutch kit, cable firewall adjuster and quadrant 9 months ago...i broke 4 cables since then. i called upr and told them, they sent me a new cable and quadrant for free, which was a new design due to the sharp edges on the hooks were the cable end sits...I purchased a quadrant from downs ford the day they returned my call and told me they were sending me a new one...this quadrant is prett much the same with the sharp edges...i received the new one yesterday and went to install it and the new design must be too tall because when you push in on the pedal the cable rubs on the top part of the firewall adjuster rather than "float" thru the middle...anyone have these problems? which hook on the tri[ple hook quadrant am i suposed to put it on?

where have your cables been breaking? closer to the quadrant or closer to the clutch fork?

I just automatically (force of habit) rounded all sharp edges on the UPR quadrant's cable slot, and flared the slot end, before installing it a year and 30k miles ago--no problems. Grease it up well with a good chassis lube too.
