hey guys im in the process of reassembling the new heads and i had two questions for the experts here:

1. How exactly do i bleed the hydraulic lash adjusters and do i need to do it in order to fit them in the new heads? The reason im asking is cause they are a bit too tight to fit in the new heads.

2, Also whats the best way to install the cam gears on the new cams? Should i install heads, then cams and then gears in order to be able to torque the bolt on it properly or is there a better way?

Thanks for any help, once i figure out this dilemma im gonna start putting everything back together and slapping the engine back up there.

I never bleed the lash adjusters and never had a problem.

Have a buddy hold the cam with a wrench in the middle while you torque the cam bolt to 90 ft lbs.

oh really well it seems as if the hole where they go in the new heads is a bit rough and dry. Should i just lube the hell out of it or what? Is is ok to hammer it in with a rubber hammer?

Is there a spot on the cam itself to hold it or do u just pry it or what? thanks a lot

Just dip the lash adjusters in oil and slide them on the holes. Tap them a bit if you need to. The CMS cams have a sopt in the middle of the cam to put a wrench on tho hold them while you tighten the cam bolt.

awesome thanks a lot man i appreciate that. My new shortblock is now on the stand with the oil pump and pickup tube installed, so i should be well underway the next couple of days
