Doesn't adding the weight of the paint basically negate the entire reasoning behind saving weight? [&:]
I'm getting a stock style CF hood for the Civic and I'm leaving it how it came.

I am all about saving weight and that is why a CF hood is for. The ricers leave them unpainted to show them off, which is ghey IMO. Get one, paint it and be happy you saved the weight.

I took my hood off to do my PI swap, its not even heavy,i replaced a hood on my brothers cavi one time, that thing was heavy, the mustang hood is pretty light for a hood in my opinion.

The really STUPID things people buy are parts for their car that "look" like they're carbon fibre but actually aren't (not made of carbon fibre) <=== THAT is RICEY
A real carbon fibre hood is a great addition, but yea I would paint it. Paint weighs next-to-nothing.
