the most popular wont neccesarily have an intercooler..

The vortech is gaining a lot of attention because the non-intercooled is so cheap.. the intercooled version sells for around $5000.. which is getting close to the price of a saleen.

if you just go to brenspeed.com and check out their Power Adder section they carry the most popular brands. (except for Whipple, which is very good.. but pricy)

No I don't care about that kind of stuff. I want to set the car up for autocross or SCCA racing. I'm done with drag racing for a while. I've heard alot about the ATI Procharger and think I might go with that, but I kinda want to go N/A also. I'm still undecided on what I want to do with the car induction wise. I was also looking at turbo kits to but don't want to spend the time on that kinda setup yet.

Try Lethal performance too.....ask for Jared (forum sponsor)

Oh and Steeda uses the FRPP/Whipple (500+ hp) on there road course cars and the S/C is a monster at the track or road course. Over 450 RWHP consider forging the block (at least) and Whipples procal tune is safe and rich:D

Comparing FI to N/A is like comparing apples to oranges.......OP you have lots of research to do IMO and just ask away and we will help you out by giving our opinions and hopefully fact based info:D:D

Well I'm looking to spend about 5k at most right now I want to do N/A first so that I can do it a lil at a time my prego wife still drives the car to and, isnt to sure about charging it yet. I just think she is scared of the power they put out charged. I told her I could turn the boost down tell she got used to it, and up it a lil once she is used to it.

Well if N/A it is you could get a new rear gear.....like 4.10's:D
definite great seat of the pants feeling and the cheapest but most rewarding mod after a CAI and tune....
I just noticed you have a 2004 GT.....do you want this thread to remain here or in the proper forum? I can move it for you and your best with the other forum for this question...though they both 4.6L motors they are different.

I'm sorry I suck at posting. I don't read to well sometimes. that would be great thanks

Thanks for all the help. I've owned nothing but 5.0's. This is 4.6L I've owned. The wife and I bought the car three yrs ago as is minus the SLP x-pipe. Thanks to the shipping company, they cost me 1500 because the guy didnt know what he was doing, he said he had to pull the car off the trailer a couple times do to other cars coming of or going on. He ripped the exhaust up, f'ed up the engine and tranny mounts, and bent the hell out off the frame pinch where the jack goes cause he put the jack in the wrong position to try and get the car un hung from the ramp, instead of putting boards under the car like any normal person would do to a car that sits as low as mustangs do at that type of angle he just rolled right up and screwed every thing up.

why the procharger over the vortech? ? just interested in opinions

b/c both the p1sc and d1sc flow more than the vortech v1/v2 thus making more power for relatively the same price.

mygt500 04-09-2009 01:44 AM

Does that hold true for the vorrtechV3?

anyway....OP the thread is now in the correct section!
