Supercharger vs N/A
OK I'm looking to put a supercharger on the car. What is a good one for the 4.6L? I dont know for sure if I'm going to go charged or N/A.

The Ford Racing kits are great. You can get a Vortech or a procharger, Roush, Saleen, etc........ Tons of brand buy the one that fits your performance goals and budget. Plan ahead if you're planning on upgrading or not and if you plan on leaving the stock motor. If you're going to leave stock block the buy any kit in your budget that produced between 400 - 550 HP at the crank. If you're going to go with 475 and up stick to the more popular brands even if they're more expensive they have compressors and intercooler with better thermal efficiency.

How does the ATI Procharger perform on the 4.6L?

FI is like Viagra - only for old guys, real men do it naturally =P LMAO (J/K Guys...don't kill me). I love being N/A...but the MPG does kinda suck A** LOL.

for the 4.6 id say procharger or vortech. i had a vortech on my 2v and it worked great and made decent power but if i could've done it over i think i might have went procharger. n/a isnt worth the money on the 4.6 imo. much easier and cheaper to go FI

The only way you could go wrong is to buy a rousch or an edelbrock (unless they fix their issues) s/c..
Which supercharger has been discussed many times. twinscrew (Saleen, Whipple, others) will get you into full boost at like 2.5rpms.. the Centri will have to spool so it will be later on you get that extra power. It also depends on your budget and power goals and what type of racing you want to do with it. a great deal right now if you are on a budget is the $3700 vortech (non-intercooled).. can get you to 400rwhp with no other mods. You will have some big traction issues so figure in some extra cash for wheels/tires. and possibly some suspension. You can throw on an intercooler later.. or either whipple or saleen can get you to 450rwhp (and with other mods 500rwhp). |
