Default Need help fast please!!!

I've done some searching on this and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I have 2000 mustang gt and I was driving to the dr's today and my car suddenly died on me. It sounds like it wants to start, but won't turn over. When I turn the keys to turn the accessories on all my gauges come on except my tempature gauge. The needle only moves about 1/8 of an inch.

I let it sit for awhile because my fan would stay on, but I know it's not overheating because I had only driven it maybe 3 miles before it died. After it sat for awhile I tried to start it again and noticed that the temp gauge came on and registered just barely over the cold mark and the car started...for about 30 seconds and then it died again.

I kept turning my accy's on and off and about every 10th time the gauge will register and the car will start for 15-20 seconds, then dies again. Anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate the help.

no, the whole car just dies at the same time. It's weird because like I said every few times that i turn the keys the gauge will come to life and the car will start.

UPDATE: My car was about 3 miles away so I had my girlfriend drive me there to see if I could get it started and I did and drove it home but I'm still nervous. I was re-reading my first post and realized I left out the whole part about my radiator/coolant light coming on yesterday at the end of my 30 mile commute home. I stopped at a drug store to get some coolant (new to the area and don't know where much is) but all they had was dexcool. I just picked some up on the way to try my car again and added some. It was low, but nowhere near the bottom. Could this have caused the problem?

Would that cause the temp gauge to not register?

If that is the problem, how would I get the air out?

thats the way it was on my lincoln mark 8.....on the lincoln i just took the plug out of the crossover tube but the 2v's dont have a plug. ummmm you could disconnect the top tube from the intake and fill it up as much as you can that way. but my low coolant light came on when i had my GT and it ran just fine and when i filled it back up the light went off and i didnt have any more problems.
