There is a good chance it is a spark plug. Especially if you have never changed them before. The plugs are under your coils.

Spark, Gas, Fire, Boom, Vroom.

You will need a spark plug socket, some extentsions, a rachet, and probably a swivel. Get some antiseeze too.

The #7 is especially tricky (atleast on my 98... Not sure the exact setup on the 99+).

But #7 and #8 seem to burn spark plugs before the others.

If it is not your spark plug, I would swap coils with another cylinder.

You can not use needlenose plyers and a flat head... But pretty basic tools. A staple of any toolbox.

Most plugs come pregapped these days, just ask your local auto store. Gapping is easy and the tool is cheap if you need to.

I would change all 8 if you can...

But I would buy 1 and start with that 1 to fix your current problem. If that fixes it, it'd buy and change the other 7. Car will run better and use less fuel with a tune up. How long has it been since it's had a tune up (milage wise)?

You can always buy those little packets that are on the counter of AutoHo or Advance but if you buy a bottle of it you'll find a million things to use it on and you'll almost never run out.
