Mustang Valve Cover Question
Hello everyone, read this forum all the time for help, kinda stuck here though... I have a 1998 Mustang GT over halfway done with the PI conversion, Im back to putting my valve covers back on when I realized that my stock 98s wont fit the newer heads. From checking around at the local auto parts for a proper gasket it seems that these heads were from a 2002 Mustang GT since the gaskets were different from 99-01 and again in 02 and then again in 03...my question is what year valve covers will fit these heads since Im having a really rough time finding valve covers. Confused cause after checking online at various places some sites say their valve covers fit 99-04 Mustang GT's and some sites say theirs fits 02-04 Mustang GT's. Thanks for any replies as help is much appreciated!

If your Cam Covers don't fit then you have Windsor heads and they came from the 99-00 mustangs and the ford trucks. You'll need to look for 4.6 Windsor Cam covers/Valve Cover.
Try Car-parts.com I just dd a search for you and found a couple salvage yards in texas than have them for about 25ea.

The camshafts do have I guess what are called caps to hold them down though Im not to sure the difference. There are I think five or six individual bars on each head to torque down to hold the PI camshafts down.

You have windsor heads. Buy the 99-00 valve cover gaskets. They will have one gasket that is 13 bolt pattern and the other will be 14 bolt pattern.
