if they are for a pi engine i doubt it, pi cams have more lift and you also have flat top pistons. i see valve wackage in this equation.

He said he is doing the swap. So if your using pi heads ofcourse you can put does cams as long as they are going on a 99-04 heads. If your friend had the cams on pi heads then ofcourse they fit yours. I am also in the process of doing the swap and i was going to do it this weekend but i wont do it because I decided to buy headers. Its the only bolt on I will be missing so might as well get a pair before i put everything back together. I will be using 2000 gt heads on my 96 GTS and they are from a built motor that my friend took apart at his shop. I havent checked to see if the cams are stock 2000 but I will when I get the chance, hopefully they are not the stock cams. If they r stock I will probably look for some stage 2 cams like the ones you got too because they sound nice. Just one thing it is recommended to get shorter springs for the valves for the stage 2 ok. Just get your self some shorter springs or see if they can put the srpings at a shop. I did the springs on my vettes motor for only $80 and cleaned. should be about the same price for the GT

I ordered a set of springs from cushman motorsports. They were the 550 lift springs for 2v. I hope the cam clears..

Got any advice to where I can get a tool to notch the pistons? Also how much does it cost?

wow that response was breathtaking. the question isn't if they will fit it is if a stage 2 PI cam on a NPI shortblock will bend the valves. and wtf are you talking about shorter springs. technically you could shim stock springs but the more recommended thing to do is buy better springs with a stronger spring rate, not shorter ones.

+1 Your right livefast its still a npi bottom end. I have a few options but the more I have been reading it looks like im going to either have notch the pistons or change the pistons. Would really like to keep the compression though. I plan on spraying the motor and higher compression loves nitrous. Any idea on where to get a notching tool?
