Question Rear End Help

I am running 410rwhp and i spin like crazy and it is getting annoying, i was looking to get 17x10.5 black deep dish bullets with 315 35/17 nitto 555dr's. that would widen up the rear tires a bit but what else could i do? also i am running stock 3.23 gears what would be good for my setup, 3.55 or 3.73?

Well first off, a 555R isnt really going to help you in the traction department like you are thinking. And goin with a huge tire isnt going to help either. My Cobra hooked better on 235/60/15 MT ET Streets than it did with 275/40 555Rs...

And if you are spinning now, gear will only make you spin more.

a wider wheel base will not give more traction? plus dr's? and the gears i could see why it would be even worse.

I have tried this before... I had 275/40 tires on my cobra, I rolled thru a puddle and left wet tire marks on the road. My buddy had a 93 T/A with 315s on it, he rolled thru the same puddle. The actual contact patch was near identicle. A wider tire can help a little bit, but its not the end-all fix for traction.

If you want to hook, you are goin to need some suspension work and a very sticky tire (which sacrifices life dramatically)

ok that makes sense but suspension mods should i look into, i was going to put eibach lowering springs on put i what i have read is that the ride is pretty horrible so i am not going to lower it, and what are some sticky tires that are streetable?

lowering springs will hurt traction, not help it. nittos are the best street/drag radial. MTs are kinda pointless for street driven car b/c they only last around 5k miles if taken care of. nittos would probaly be the best choice for traction and longevity

for gear ratio id stick with 3:55s, the 17s are heavy enough to somewhat offset the gear and lower the cruising rpms

yea i figured the springs would do no good. how bout lower control arms? who has the best bang for the buck. i probably will be purchasing nittos.
