Whats involved in putting a t56 and 5.4 DOHC cobra engine in a 2001 GT?

if it was built it would, but a built 5 speed would be just as strong. its all about the gear ratios. i think the T56 out of a cobra has a .62 6th gear ratio which is the same ratio of the Tr3650 ( essentially the same as your tranny as well) so your not really getting that whole "better MPG" that everyone raves about. BUT there are companies that build T56's and tko 500 & 600's with just about any ratio set up you want whether it be top end ratios or ones made to the strip.
But i agree i would probably go 6 speed to because with all that power you will prob be going through the gears quickly and that extra 5th gear will help out alot.

As for the Cams what i mean was, they have a certain degree of overlap or something like that. i heard a few of the members on here talk about it and when paired with a S/c or turbo it would cause a loss of boost, thats what blower cams are for
