Default tb and plenum install

Good afternoon everyone,

Just got my Accufab TB and CL Plenum in and was wondering how long it took "those that have done it" to do it? Just trying to get some ideas to see if I could do it after work or should I wait until this weekend.

Thanks

R

Ya, 30 minutes about does it. Why the Accufab TB with the CL plenum? Accufab's plenum has the highest overall flow rating and HP/torque increases. The ACF TB with ACF plenum were designed to work best together. Mixing and matching TB's and plenum's can sometimes be less than a perfect thing. Not to mention a possible compromise with fit. That is similar to those who buy one brand's catback exhaust and another brand's X or H pipe. Sometimes fit is a big issue. Like parts are built and tested together for optimum use all the way around.

I got a really good deal on them as a kit. Plus I researched it and was happy with what I was told and read.

They fit together perfectly and were really easy to put on. Would have gone on a heck of a lot quicker if two of the factory bolts hadn't snapped at the head. That p'd me off.

I have a question for "Deanno" or any one else with an after-market upper intake plenum and/or throttle body on their 4.6 L GT. I also have a '98 GT and I was interested in purchasing an upper intake plenum. I wanted to get a BBK one and I was wondering if i should get a new throttle body (70 or 75mm). Also, were you satisfied with your set-up and would you reccomend this mod for me? Did you notice any good performance gains? Would a bigger throttle body be an over-kill for my stock engine? Sorry for all the questions... I just need all the advice and expertise I can get!

The Accufab 70mm and the Accufab Plenum are the best performing set-up combination on a N/A stang, the C&L performs best with a 75mm Accufab, and it's 1-2 peak HP off the Accufab combo. I thing (why I did it) the Peak # difference is because the Accfab Plenum is polished inside and the C&L had a quite a bit of slag. I cleaned up my C&L took about 3 hrs to get it the way I wanted it and I think it helped.
