rookie here. ok well i just took off the IAC and am sitting here looking at it. am i suppose to take off the plastic pieces, th **** on top and the one on the end that has the plug. i dont wanna spray anything into it and mess up any kind of electrical crap.

guys this really helped a few months back but it seems to have come back to my 2000 gt. so i want to buy new aic or iac.

question is what exactly is it called. a AIC or IAC? I can't find one on mustang parts sites or on ebay. can someone give me a exact name of this part or please list a great parts site that you use.

I just got the part and it is called and Idle Air Control. Just a note to keep in mind when buying, the part listed for a 2000gt wasn't the right one, but the part listed for a 98GT was. Don't know if this is just my car or if it's standard. Hope this helps

i just spend a ton of money on coils and plugs thinking that was the stalling problem on my old 99 gt which is my moms now. i had my buddy nick who graduated uti not to long ago do that for me and then just last night he mentioned it is probably the fuel injectors. you dont need to spend no 30- 8o bucks to fix it simply go to a auto shop and buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, it poors into ur gas tank. You dont need to really worry about the problem though it doesnt affect the car in a bad way or in any way for that matter

Kid, a couple of things. The number of times that the stalling issue described in this thread will be caused by faulty fuel injectors are about 1 in 10,000. No kidding. And as for the fuel injector cleaner bottles, these are often bogus. They have NEVER been proven to do anything other than waste your money. Same things with "octane boosters." The idea sounds good--a liquid that will be mixed with the fuel and clean out the injectors. Problem is, whatever chemical they use to clean the injectors must be acid-based, and this is totally unmixable with gasoline (if you value your engine). They've asked those companies these questions for years, but they've never answered. Why do you think those companies don't make a killing? Their products are bullsh!t. You had the right idea before. You probably just needed a tune-up.

It's all good to spray, my friend. Just wash that gunk away. Just detatch the EGR valve, of course!! LOL.

hey guys.....thanks for this thread......helpful......mine was doing the same thing...dying if i didn't have my foot in it. i knew what it was but not what to remove to clean it.
