Default problem?

what happens if you get a set of 4.10s installed and do not re-calibrate the speedo? The reason I ask is because originally I was going to get a tuner and 4.10s installed this thursday but now something has come up, leaving me with only enough for the gears and the install. Other than the speedo being off would it be bad for the car to go about 2 weeks with it off?

Nothing bad you will just rack up alot more miles on your car then you really are. Plus your speedo will be worthless and just have to go with the flow of traffic.

Your rpms will be higher because you went to a lower gear ratio, but like mustangman said just go with the flow of traffic and you'll be fine.

Your rpms will stay high even after you get the tune.

Care to elaborate?
If the speedo is off and the miles are a little off thats fine. I just don't want any mechanical problems

There is nothing at all mechanical that installing gears will do to your car. You can run forever without tuning the car it will run no different at all.

Unless you have an automatic transmission, the shift points and other speed related settings will be all screwed up...
