How do I keep my 4R70W cool?
I have an aftermarket torque converter and a stage III shift kit installed in my tranny. Because of this after about 15-20 minutes of normal driving, my tranny gets really hot. if i travel on the road just cruizing, my tranny gets so hot that 3rd to 4th hesitates (by going into neutral and then shifter to 4th after rpms drop low) and i also lose a lot of power. Once it cools off it's fine again so no worrys there i guess. I have a derale cooler with a fan but its just not enough. is there a way to cool my tranny down? this wasnt nearly as bad as a problem in the winter but the summer fries it...

Yeah i do have one but i'll look into those deep oil pans. has anyone tried that royal purple ATF that claims to reduce tempurature? its 13 dollars a quart on american muscle's site.

I had the same issue on my ranger, ended up roasting the tranny and blowing the converter in half...+1 on the deeper oil pan, but whats the flow rate on your cooler and how much air is it getting(is it blocked by anything or is there anyway to open it up to more airflow?)

I'll try to find one but the thickness of it won't allow me to put it in front of the radiator. wish i could find a thinner cooler.
