A/C vent rattle

A/C vent rattle
I know this is a problem most of us have to deal with. But my question is, what is the best way to stop this annoying A/C vent rattle? I can push in on the center (between the A/C vents) and the rattle will stop. But is there a way to solve it completely?
Thanks,
Phil

ISSUE:
Some 2001-2004 Mustang vehicles may exhibit climate control panel vents (barrel vent) with vanes that are difficult to adjust, and/or may make a rattling type noise. This may be due to detachment of the air vanes from the pilot holes in the vent housing.
ACTION:
To service, install revised vent (3R3Z-19893-AB). The barrel vents are now sold and serviced separately. Refer to the Service Procedure below.

Is this the low-squeaking noise that seems to be coming from deep inside the dash or is it obviously coming from the surface where the vent is?
My 99 did this weird squeaking/rubbing thing that sounded from deep inside the dash at highway speeds, and what do you know, the 04 mach I just bought does it as well!

There are two main culprits of the 'low deep inside dash" squeaking noise, one is the center console bezel (the one the center A/C vents are installed in) and the other is the plastic cowl.
To fix the bezel just pop it off and install a foam gasket (like the gasket they sell at home depot for sealing doors) around the bezel. To fix the cowl you have to replace it with a new one, apparently the clips on the cowl break and allow it to move along the glass epically at highway speeds.
Third option, adjust the VOL until the noise is not heard

I cant hear mine unless im going reaaaally slow or coasting with the clutch in. My SLPs take care of that for me.

Interesting. I only hear it in 5th at a steady speed. I have these adhesive strips between my windshield and the interior piece that touches it (cowl?). I wonder if that's what those strips were intended to take care of??
