Evap leak or Vacuum leak? What was your original code?

Lean codes are 95% of the time causes by a vacuum leak on the intake

i dont remember i went to autozone.... but my check engine light usally comes on 1 time a month and it use to b evap leak.... i belive its my gas tank has leak at top of filler neck cuz when i fill it all the way up it leaks a 1/4 gallon or so... but then i thought it was just evap so i took it to get it turned off and then it said bank 1 lean...

Well the filler neck seal is a common issue. Lean codes are going to be either a vac leak or exhaust leak by the manifold.

Post the code. And what do you mean leaks a 1/4 gallon or so? Like it falls out onto the ground?

Funny I had the same symptoms and when we tore the engine down I found the intake gaskets all tore up.

Why do you automatically assume a bad 02 sensor? Maybe the 02 sensor works fine and is reporting a problem? Thats why they are there lol. Sorry to jump on you I had like 5 people at work ask me to replace their 02's because of 02 codes yesterday.

Like white fox said most of the time a lean code is thrown because of intake side vacuum leak, or possibly a cracked exhaust manifold. I recently had a bank 2 sensor 1 lean CEL and I found that there was a small crack in the collector of my long tube. Welded it up and now code is gone.

What I would do if I was in your shoes is goto a sears auto center, They don't have great techs but a exhaust evaluation is free. Have them check for a exhaust leak. If nothing. start searching through your vacuum lines.
