Question Car is leaking anti-freeze on backside of the engine - need input

Hey guys, my '01 stang with a lil over 65k is leaking anti-freeze. Without putting on a lift I can not tell where it is coming from.

From what I can see, if you're looking over the engine from the drivers side fender on the right side of the valve cover there is a narrow gap between the end of the valve cover and the firewall, which I can't quite see down through cuz of the lack of space.

But I notice fluid dripping from what looks like right under the far right part of the valve cover. It actually drips on to the rear part of the exhaust header. When it hits the ground, it's landing right @ the door hinge, almost in the middle of the car towards the drivers side.

It's leaking quite a bit of fluid, too.

Any guesses @ what it could be? Heater core pipe maybe? Or what it would take (time & $$$) to fix it? I doubt I will/could do this job myself.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

It's probably the heater core hoses that go from the intake and water pump to the heater core or a cracked intake.

Could be a freeze plug in the head, or more than likely, it's one of the heater hoses.

Had this exact leak. Turned out to be a manifold gasket, not the manifold itself. Good luck though - could be any one of the things previously mentioned as well.

Shop diagnosed my old coolant leak coming from the manifold gasket too...it wasn't until we pulled the intake that we found the crack in the manifold itself. Good luck with the repair.

Bingo !! Thats my guess too.
Had the same problem and thought the intake was cracked like their famous for.

Nope it was just a intake gasket, but in a way im glad I replaced intake with new design, dont have to worry about cracks and its a life time warranty .

It was a simple job to replace poster if thats your case.

Good Luck

What is the time invested for a job like that? I feel this may be beyond my skillset. Any special tools or methods required?
