Default Is the new clutch cable supposed to be so springy?

My old clutch and cable setup (stock stock and more stock) with a brand new clutch but old 60,000 mile cable was a very hard and slow clutch. I just installed the new cable, and the clutch is very light, goes to the floor easily, and springs back much easier and faster than it did before. It's a stock clutch from ford, and was kind of a pain to get on.

Also... is it okay to use a crowe bar to pry the shift fork in the direction of the canble as you are installing it? I had someone help me lock the cable into the clutch fork. I must have pried the fork like 3 or 4 times, is this damaging?

Be sure and pull the clutch pedal up to set the auto adjust. I had this symptom after changing the throw out bearing. Yeah, it should be fine prying on the fork.

get rid of the stock quadrent, a steeda adjustable clutch kit is more than worth the money. also a steeda adjustable clutch pedal stop is well worth the 25.00-30.00 too!!

Alright, well I took the car out for a spin, and the clutch catches EXTREMELY high. Like, the last 2 inches of pull is where it catches.

Also, as I was sitting in the garage, pressing the clutch to break it in, I noticed an RRRR RRR kind of rocking chair sound (its raining outside) like midway of pushing or releaseing the clutch. It doesn't matter if the car is on or off, still makes this noise. Actually, it sounds like more like a throaty sounding squeaky floorboard LOL

Also, how do you do the auto adjust? Just pull up, push down, then release with the car on?

Just grab the clutch pedal and pull it up toward the steering wheel. It's the opposite of pushing it down and it doesn't matter if it's running or not. That will fix it. I had the exact same issue.

it could be the cable streching, a dry clutch fork pivot point, the clutch pedal assembley, quadrent, just take your pick. i would be betting its the cable streching. My Steeda cable made some noise for a little bit after installing the kit.

Yeah it isnt really making the groaning anymore, but the clutch catches HIGH, and I mean REALLY high. This is a non adj clutch cable though so how do I go about fixing this? I have already pulled up on the pedal and pushed down like 50 times. It changes nothing.
