Default Lack of power

Ok so i have a slugglish feeling in my 96 stang when i press the gas pedal like it goes but keeps like holding back and is kinds jumpy when i accelerate can anyone help me

Sounds like you have a cylinder or two missing. I would change out your spark plugs and spark plug wires and see if that won't fix it.

Pull the spark plugs and see if any of them are fouled or not(the ends of them are all all carboned over). Other then that I'm not sure what you could do other then take it into a mechanic. But if it kind of jerks when you get on it, and the engine sputters a little while its jerking, its probably misfiring a cylinder.

lighswitch when you come to a stop light and its idling is it missing? Can you feel your engine have a slight roughness?

no rough idle just feels laggy like it hesitating to accelerate

Maybe a bad Fuel filter.. If its not missing at all then it may not be a bad plug.

Is it an automatic or manual tranny? If it's an automatic it could be the clutches are slipping. If it's a manual, does the RPM go up and the car just continue at the same speed for a few seconds? Clutch would need to be replaced.

Yep, like said above or if auto could be torque converter. Mine already went out once.
