Ok then, what is a practcal size to run other than the 245 45 17 for this rim. I know buying a new set of rims is an option but I just got a Bassani and am broke
I need tires and was thinking tire rack online but want to make sure thewill fit first..........maybe I should just stick with 245 45 17 as I have in the front and be done with it?

My calculation shows if I want to run a 275 I need an AR of .40 to maintain overall height of 652mm which should keep the computer happy. The only thing is what will a 275 .40 drive like. I am not hell bent on a 275 I just want a wifer stance that the 245 .45.

Local tires guys saying that they can not put a larger tire than a 245 45 on the 8 inch rim because they can not guarantee the bead will hold. WTF

Sllt et all, you guys run the 275x40x17 all around? All the shop guys tell me its a no no for clearance and bead hold down problem. I guess real world (you guys) are the litmus test and prove the shop guys are full of themselves???????? Seems to me a basic question and one that we all will cross at one time or another.....
