So tomorrow I need to go pick up a tuner to re-calibrate my speedo after the gear install. I've decided to go with the sct xcal 3 since my local shop is offering them for 300 brand new! My question is this, other than changing the speedo and setting it for 93 octane, what are some other things that I can change to help the cars performance? Mods are in my sig if they make any difference.

 

unless you know how to tune a car ,i am taking it as you dont i would let the shop ur buying it from just load a tune for on the sct because you could really jack up your car trying to tune it yourself its only maybe 50 bucks for a tune

 

unless they dyno it for you, all they are going to do is advance the timing (to my knowledge), maybe change the fan kick on temp, recalibrate for the speedo, of course. Look into the Sniper tuner and just do it yourself unless you're getting some sort of free dyno tune along with the purchase. You can play with the timing all you want right on your PC and get it perfected yourself.

 

Plus, I believe the new SCT Tuners don't come with the canned tunes anymore. You have to load tunes to it, which you purchase.
