Default 390ci Swap (will it work?)

First of all, this is my first post, and im glad to be a member of this badass site.

ok....heres the thing.
I got a 2000 mustang, five-speed v6.

i miss having a V8 (ive had two foxbodies) and im either gonna sell this car to buy a 5.0, or take the engine out and put in a 1969 390ci engine in there? ive done a few swaps on other vehicles, but not like this....

need some advice. i mean, are there motor mounts and other stuff available for a swap like this one on my 00 stang...oh and does a c4 tranny fit a 390 engine?

any advice is greatly appreciated...

Im pretty sure its possible, one or 2 members are doing a 460 swap, i think one MAY be doing a 390 but i can't remember who it is (if its anyone). You're gonna need a new K-member, and pretty much a whole new suspension, atleast a rear end that puny 7.5" isn't gonna hold up, go ford 9 inch or a 31 or 33 spline 8.8. I think a c-4 should work but im not too sure.

Wasn't there that one member that put in a 408W in a new edge?

There is a company called AJE, Anthony Jones Engineering, that makes suspension parts. If you get a tubular K member from them and tell them what you are doing, they make engine mounts that will work for you. They can fit any engine you want on their K member. I think its about 50 bucks for a new set of mounts from them, so that would be an option.

AJE racing will have everything you need...im doing a pushrod swap right now actually

why a 390? i would go with a 408 stroker, 347 stroker, or a 460+ with super cobra jet heads and intake *stock heads can be ported from a non-scj engine to match the scj intake*
