transmission input shaft question
I recently had a clutch put in and the throw out bearing is garbage. I can hear it eating up the input shaft. Hopefully is hasnt destroyed my pressure plate. My question is how hard is it to replace an transmission input shaft on a 5spd 04 gt? I dont think ill have the dealership do it. they want something rediculous like 650 for just labor. Seeing how ive already dropped 350 for a spec stage 2 clutch kit then 440 for the install i dont have the money for someone else to do it
Also how many splines is it and where can i find a good deal on one?

^ agreed
The TOB has no contact with input shaft, but rather rides over a sleeve around this shaft. Seems a lot of TOB's are mentioned lately on the forums and don't know why so many. I always recommend the OEM Ford one and would recommend you go with Jazzers super-duper magnet remover mod located in my T-56 swap thead.

so it doesnt touch the shaft? no pun intended.... The only reason i thought it might have groved the input shaft is that there is alittle peddal hesitation when i first press the clutch like there is grinding. But this is great news.
Since ill be in there is there do you all think theres a chance it messed up the pressure plate? also should i replace the pilot bearing just to be safe?
