Default Needle Removal

Has anybody ever removed the needle on the speedometer before? or any needle on the instrument cluster? I want to know if you can just pull them off or if there's something special you need to do to get them off.

If they are on there real good there is a tool to remove them. But a kitchen fork will work just as well. Just be carful not to scratch the faces with the points.

I don't suggest doing it.. It is a pain in the *** to get everything back like it was.. speed, gas, etc...

Lmao!! I never thought of doing that.. I had mine way off so I had to go back in and redo them, which meant hooking it up with the needles off and turning the car on and then putting them on.

Not sure if it will work on the Stang, but I've done it with other cars... To reset the speedo and tach, just pull the needle up slightly, and turn it counter clockwise OVER the top of the needle stop, it should turn on back a little further, then take your picture. When putting them back on just match up to the picture, then pull them back over the stops...

Trust me take a picture... I put new gauges on ever since my fuel gauge is off, my oil pressure gauge doesnt work, my voltage meter doesnt work and my tachometer is off by a tad. I have yet to figure out where the needles actually go. I think im just going to buy that pre-calibrated gauge cluster from mustang tuning. TAKE A PICTURE OR YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO RECALIBRATE !!
