4.6L engine tick
Hey guys,
Im new on this site but hope to be a long time member, I just aquired a 1997 mustang GT with 172 000 km on it (or 107 500 miles)
Got a great deal on the car and am currently working on the brakes, fluids, cleaning, touch ups
I have an engine tick which I believe is a hydraulic lash adjuster and wouldnt mind your opinion on this.
it sounds exactly like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBi_vQoMMTA
when it is cold it ticks fairly loud, but once it has warmed up it goes away to a certain degree
it seems to be in the lower rpm's
as soon as i got the car home i changed the oil (it didnt look too bad)
I have from now until may to work on the car so i dont mind how long this would take to fix
is it possible this could be a time chain issue?
this car was parked for most of this year before i bought it so maybe it will go away?, i dont think it will
