Whats wrong with the good ole C4? Not different enough for you? Didn't know sxy had a norm......

Jerkin' it for mustang parts FTW.....LOL. Can't wait for the first person to come on here and admit to it.

You have a few options... Most common and easy would be the c4 or 4r70. I've looked into this a good bit. The s197 trans isn't what u want, simply because the aftermarket isn't there for them yet.

Imo I'd do a 4r70, mvb, a 9.5in l/u converter w a 3200 to 3800 stall, and a trans brake. Anything over 400rw your going to want to upgrade your internals too. And remember, your gonna NEED aCooler. Biggest one u can fit is the way to do it. I don't know about paddle shifters but for a gated or ratchet shifter, od and lock up are both going to be on switches

Some companys to look into are

Dirty dog converters
Tci
B&m for your cooler
Lentech
Pa
Silverfox trans
Freddy brown for the vb

A c4 will be cheaper, but imo the 4r is well worth it for od and lu

Check out clickclickracing.com they'll ans all your questions, and even ones u didn't ask

Hey thanks for the info and the site. Two easy questions:

Can I use my Mac LT's when I convert to the 4r70w?

I'm sure the 4r70 would be from a newer model but does the BCH have to be from my year or are doesn't it matter?

Depends... Do u want the trans to shift itself? Or full mvb? U cab get an auto pcm n harness, go aftermarket cobtroller, or mvb and keep ur stock one, just run reverse lights off of the shifter

I could go MVB. The whole idea of this came when I seen the steering wheel paddle shifters so it doesn't really matter. I'm going to keep the locking for the OD for the fwy.

I guess I should start looking up prices and see if it's going to be another huge project like my engine, lol. I've been dead set on the T56 or magnum swap but since I'm making so much power now and I've lost some driveablility I think the auto would add some back to it.

What do you think about Daily Driving a 600rw car with an auto?

I'd do it w out question. I'm going auto when I can afford it. Your gonna prolly be looking at aroubd 5k when alls said and done

Imo I'd go mvb, gated shifter, with a switch for od and lu... The cool thing about that is a good converter you can lu the top of 3rd at the track, to drop th rpms a little and make it thru the traps, depending on your gearing it might be very benificial to you

Deff look at dirty dog for a converter

Lentech or freddy brown for your trans

Hurst and tci make nice shifters, but b&m makes one to go in the stock location, anythibg u get get for a c4 and the aod install kit, it'll work with the 4r with MINOR work

Imo its the way to go. And I'd put money on your car going faster at the track too
