poop on lowering
Ok maybe I want to lower my 98. Springs right? How difficult is it to toss springs in? Are they under presure when the car is lifted? I have heard nast stories about guys getting messed up by spring expansion during replacment. I guess I could use a good artcle and I am sure most are borred with this old subject.....

RE: poop on lowering
If you lift the car the springs will be extended so all you have to do is lower the A arm or lower control arm respectively and actually use a crow bar to remove the old ones. I didnt need a spring compressor at all. I used the weight of the car to compress the springs into place and bolt the control or A arm back into place.

For my Contour I had very very tall OEM springs and had to compress the OEM's but the aftermarket were very short and fell right in. For my Eibach Sportlines no compression was neccessary on my 02 GT. It's pretty easy now that I know how I could do it again in minutes. Apply common sense and there will be no danger.

do you not need a spring compressor to install on our cars? if not, maybe i'll buy a set right now.

Nope. You dont need one at all. If you lift the car and put the new spring in and place a jack stand under the A arm or Lower control arm and let the jack down, the weight of the car will compress the spring. A spring compressor is a waste of time and money.
