Default Engine swapping

Does anyone know if a 2005 f-150 4.6 v8 would fit in a 2003 mustang? Are the motor mounts in the same place and all that junk?

The biggest issue with using a f150 engine has been the intake manifold.

Fitting is not the issue. I believe its the mating parts.

if its a mod motor it should fit. but like said, the problem with dropping in new motors usually comes to the intake manifold. any of the 5.4 motors (2v, 3v, or 4v) will drop into a mustang without any problems, except the intake manifold doesnt allow the hood to close. ALSO, the 5.4 uses an 8 bolt clutch and flywheel/flexplates while the 01.5 and up new edges use an 11 bolt. so in this instance you need to replace your clutch and flywheel. you may have that situation (not hard to fix, but can add cost if your doing this on a budget)

do you already have the f150 motor? do you have a v6 or v8 mustang? why not just find a 4.6l PI motor...you can find those for stupid cheap.
