Default Getting hot

Ok I have a 1999 GT. Yesterday is the first time this has ever happened. It was just over half way on my temp gauge and the car started to "boil over".. I stopped let it cool and filled it up. It took quite a bit of water. By the way at the time I was driving about 40 mph and it was around 97 degrees or so... Last night, wasn't driving crazy, & it did the same thing, only this time the gauge was showing "H" .. it was really getting up there. I stopped let it cool down, and put a new thermostat in.. not 160, cause they had to order it..I thought maybe it was sticking.. So I drove it, did it again, almost right away. What could the problem be? I am getting so frusterated???!??!![:@]

Does your radiator have a leak that you can see anywhere like when you look under your car?

No.. not at all.. the water will start boiling over at the top of the overflow tank..

This might be a pile of BS but I hope not. I had that problem in another car and if I remeber right I changed to radiator cap because it has to have a certain seal. This is what I was told to do.. [&:]

Edit, have you checked your water pump?

Ok yeah sorry about the double post. It is low now, so should I fill it up, and if I take the cap off, and I see water moving then the pump is still good, and if it is standing still, or not flowing then the pump is bad?
