Default OEM Clutch Cable...

So I made the mistake of replacing my factory cable with an aftermarket cable. Now every week I have to adjust the cable because it stretches so much.

I just bought a new OEM cable to replace the aftermarket cable.

So the new cable has a little connector to connect to the factory firewall, but of course I have an aftermarket firewall adjuster. The connector pops off (But will need to be cut off)

Whats left is a large rubber doughnut looking thing, but it is clearly too large to fit in the whole in my aftermarket adjuster.

Did I get the wrong part? Or does the large rubber thing sit as an "absorber" against the firewall adjuster? It looks like I might be able to pry off the rubber, but then it looks like it would be too small and rattle inside the adjuster.

Here is a pic...

adjustable cables are not to be used with an adjustable quadrant like found in our cars. you could have kept the cable and just bought a solid quadrant and been done with it too. not sure if that was the problem or not.... because using the adjustable will cause the same problem, you will have to adjust the clutch every couple of miles.

There are a lot of horror stories out there with adjustable cables snapping. He made the right move.
