Default What will it cost me to do this?

Lately i have been thinking about just building up my engine in my GT. I would like to do it all at once, which means i would like to supercharge it, possibly forge it for my peace of mind, new headers, heads and can i keep my CAI with a supercharger? Also im not exactly sure what brand of parts i should use, so any help would be appritiated with that. I want to do this all at once and do it all right like my dad always says.

You're CAI is pennys compared to the cost of the otherstuff. You're talking several grand even if you do it yourself. The best/cheapest way to do it is to decide exactly what parts you "must have" and then decide your performance goals. How much HP? How much torque? This information will help you figure out how radical you need to go to keep your engine safe. Some applications require more fuel, some superchargers have their own coolant resovoir and a water to air intercooler... etc.

Im looking for about 450ish Hp which is probaly alot, and i would need suspension work too but i want the power! Im aware of all the intercoolers and such. I want a sick engine, like bulletproof, like i said i want to do it right so it dosent like blow up while im driving it hard.

if your gonna supercharge it stick with the non pi heads and port them out so you dont have that compression bump that you would have if you swaped to PI or D46 heads. get forged pistons and rods and a bullitt intake manifold and you should be good to run 12-14 psi

David K is right. Dont swap heads, stick to your NON PI heads and port and polish them, Definently get like a stage 2 or 3 cam, I would say 2 because i think 3 is for purely racing. Bullitt or PI intake would be ok i think. Or just get a KB blower, that be inplace of your intake. To run 12-14 psi w/ a KB i imagine you would need a tough bottom end. Your going to need full exhaust on that to.

ok well i thought that the compression would be to high for a supercharger with PI heads. I dont think a bullit or pi would bolt up to the non pi heads or will it?

why not buy a 99+ motor off of e-bay or something, throw your forged rotating assembly in, headers, and you're done.
