One more question - When you did this, did you replace both front and rear bushings, or just the front? The instructions I foud do not mention the rear ones

if you run into any issues, just post up and we will help ya out...dont get too frustrated at the shafts, if you cant get them out then just use a little persuasion with a flathead

Just finished with it. For the most part it wasn't too bad, took about an hour and a half. Would have been done a lot sooner if it weren't for those sleeves (shafts). I think when people are really really bad, they have to go to hell and remove those things all day.
Anyway, the sound is gone, it drives better. Thanks much to all who helped.

Did you replace the whole steering rack, or just do the fix? That was my video you found through search BTW, I still havent bothered to fix mine.

I just did the fix. My car sounded exactly like yours, no sounds out of it now. Its amazing how much better it is without those sounds. You should definitely do it. Plus, the steering is more responsive. I hadn't noticed any loss in it before, but I can tell now.

I have since machined a set of aluminum bushings, similar to those sold by Steeda and others. They raise heck with NVH, road noise in particular, but the improvement in handling is well worth it...
