It is totally worth it. Its power that you cant get outta a NON PI w/out the PI swap. You can still go w/ low boost and nos when your done. It is worth it. Its best to look for a deal on all the stuff though. You should definently P&P the heads as well. But it is worth it.

If your gonna do the PI swap, get the heads ported. Its not worth it in my mind putting on upgraded stock parts. Do it right, do it once. The gains will be tremendous with ported heads and a mild cam. Save up a few more bucks and get it done right.

porting the heads would not give you enough horsepower for the money spent. you could spend $1000 porting and getting a valve job and gain like 10hp or so or you could get cams with a bigger duration and gain like 27hp

one option you should do though is get out a dremel and remove your self all that "toasted bread" that is inside the intake ports. make sure you get an air gun and blow out the ports as well. dont want any shavings gettin in
