Default Well I need a new intake manifold...

Mine cracked near the thermostat housing crossover and is spewing coolant everywhere. I have some extra cash so I wanna invest in a metal manifold. Now, I have researched quite a bit and opinions are mixed on the typhoon. I'm not spending 800 for the trickflow because the car is my DD. I also looked at the victor jr and the elbow but I think that would run about 700 said and done. Are there any other options? I contacted Jim Reichard from Reichard racing and he said theirs are discontinued due to production costs. Basically, the car is long tubes, h pipe, plenum, intake, 4.10 gear, flowmaster 40s, and handheld tuner. I will be camming the car with either VT stg 2 or Hi-tech stage 2 cams and possibly spraying the car this coming summer so a metal manifold would come in handy. Comments and suggestions appreciated. Also, how big of a job is installing one yourself?

I'm definately not getting an oem plastic one. If I spray the car, I want a little more assurance. I definately agree with the dealer comment.

Since you have stock heads i would consider the Bullitt intake. You won't be able to take advantage of the other intakes anyway.

They do! Not worth it either! If you are gonna spend the money do the TF or Victor Jr

I wasn't sure how much the Bullitt intake was. The problem is that it looks like the op doesn't want to spend the money on a aftermarket intake (maybe i'm wrong) but doesn't want the stock plastic one either.

With the vic jr, do u have to buy the elbow from sullivan? I read somewhere about an adapter plate to use the stock plenum and TB combo. Whqt about fuel rails? It looks promising if I can just buy something to adapt the stock upper intake/TB. I don't wanna buy the 300 dollar elbow AND a cobra TB.

My budget is 600 bucks. That basically rules out the p-51 and the trickflow. Basically, its between typhoon and vic jr IF I can get everything needed for the vic jr for under 600.
