timing tensioners, arms, guides...anyone do this?

Default timing tensioners, arms, guides...anyone do this?

i have a ticking sound so im doing the timing components because it may be this...i bought the guides and arms and tensioners from ford today...i heard all you need to do this is the arms and guides but i bought the tensioners just in case...anyone ever do this project? how do ya do it?

hard to explain. get a chilton or haines manual and read very carfully and take your time, if you get frustrated walk away for a few minutes

Getting the timing cover off seems intimidating but it's really easy. Should take a good day to get it done with all the parts. An angled ratcheting closed end wren works great for removing the power steering pump. One of the retaining bolts on the pump is directly under the damn pressure line. Seaking of PS, why can't ford design a freaking pump worth a damn. My car has 54k on it and my pressure line has leaked fluid all over the place.

take your time with everything and you should be fine. And whatever you do, do not let the timing chains slip off the crank or cam gears
